Lemire, Frances

The kindest and most loving grandma and mother, Frances Lemire passed away peacefully on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2007, at the age of 87.
She was born in Fort Macleod on Feb. 11, 1920 to George and Annie Field. While growing up Frances enjoyed swimming at the customs, skating at the rink and she also spent many weekends at the local jitney dances.
Frances married Gerry Lemire on Oct. 6, 1941 and resided mostly in Fort Macleod. During her time married to Gerry, they enjoyed playing cards, slot machines, going to horse races, waterskiing and spending time with family and friends.
Frances was also a member of the Royal Purple and recently received her pin for 55 years of service.
Family was extremely important to Frances. At Christmas she spent countless hours baking and dividing evenly her famous tarts, squares and peanut brittle. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren will miss her smiling face and warm and giving heart.
She will be sadly missed by daughters, Vicky (Ted) Larson and Judy Harris; grandchildren and great grandchildren, Janis (Paul) Heal and Riley, Jena and Alex Heal; Jill (Cam) Burrows and Greg and Ryan Burrows; TJ (Wendy) Larson and Alisha and Kacee Larson; Chris (Natalie) Harris and Maren, Mason, Billie and Danica Harris; Karly (Jeff) Vanderhulst and Halie, Joel, Hannah and Jarred Vanderhulst; sister Nellie (George) Pinder and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Memorial Service was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Fort Macleod on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2007, at 1 p.m.
