Bodgener, Percival Ray

Percival Ray Bodgener passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Tuesday, Sept. 16, 2008.
Ray is survived by his wife Maxiene of 55 years, daughter Robyn, and grandchildren Mike (May) and Nadine (fiancé Jeff).
He is also survived by his sisters Eleanor Donahue and Ellen (Raymond) Chester, four great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Ray was predeceased by his mother and father, Ethel and Percival and by his brother Eddie.
Ray was born on Jan. 29, 1921 at Bashaw. He moved to the farm south of Fort Macleod as a young child and continued to live there the rest of his working life. When his mother retired, he took over operation of the farm. His love was his cattle, which he tended with great pride. Upon retirement he moved into Fort Macleod where he had many projects to keep himself busy. He worked on the farm with Joe Doyle for seeding and harvesting, delivered machinery for Skene Farm Equipment and worked as a caretaker at the Fort Museum.
One great love was growing roses and begonias that produced such beautiful blooms with the help of his green thumb.
Another love was travel. Ray enjoyed visiting many of the world’s travel destinations.
A memorial service was held at Christ Church Anglican, Fort Macleod, on Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Noel Wygiera officiating.
