Braun, Abram and Marion

Abram and Marion Braun passed away at their home in Fort Macleod on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2008. Abe was 76 years and Marion was 71 years. Abe is survived by his children, David (Barbara) of Calgary, Ken (Dianne) of Stirling, Holly (Frank) of Lethbridge and Karen (Troy) of Fort Macleod; grandchildren Eric and Emily, Jessica, Robyn and Steven and Lynae and Logan; brothers David, Bill, George, Peter, Carl, Henry and John; and by his sister Katherine.
Abe was predeceased by his parents and his brother Jake.
Marion is survived by her children, David (Barbara) Braun of Calgary, Kenneth Larsen of Prince Rupert, B.C. and Debbie Hall of Syracuse, N.Y.; her grandchildren Chelsea and Connor; her brother Lawrence; and sister Sheila.
Marion was predeceased by her parents and two sisters Rita and Questa. Abe was born in Hague, Sask. on Oct. 9, 1932 to Isaac and Maria Braun. He worked on the family farm in his early years before moving to Wells, B.C. to work in the mining industry. Here he met Marion Brain whom he married and they had one son David. They separated a short time later only to be remarried in 1992. In between this time, he married Evelyn Striemer and they had three children: Ken, Holly and Karen. They moved to Fort Macleod in 1965 and he resided here until his passing. Abe was a welder for most of his years, but he will be best remembered for his artistic talent. Abe put his trust in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior (Ephesians 2:8-9) and is now with him for eternity. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and all who knew him. Marion was born Aug. 10, 1937 in Timmins, Ont. to Thomas and Maria Brain. At the age of 15, Marion moved to Wells, B.C. where she met Abe, and they were married for a short time. During this time David was born. She then moved to Kirkland Lake, Ont. where she met Doug Larsen. Together they had two children: Ken and Debbie. Marion then moved to Wallaceburg, Ont. After her time in Wallaceburg, she moved to Port Edward where she served as town councillor.
Marion came to Lethbridge in 1986 for David’s wedding, where she reconnected with Abe. They were remarried on Valentine’s Day in 1992.
Funeral service will be held at the Fort Macleod and District Community Hall on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2008, at 1 p.m.
