Chester, Len

Len Chester passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at the Fort Macleod Community Support Beds at the age of 71 years.
Len will be forever remembered by his wife of 52 years EeDee and their children Karen (Rick) Nelson and Kevin (Victoria) Chester.
Len is also survived by his grandchildren, Jeff (Heather), Dayna (Trevor), Brad (Keri), Greg, Melissa, Stephanie (Jake) and Lauren, as well as his great grandchildren Carley, Rowan, Brendan and Kenna. Len is also survived by his brother Raymond (Ellen) Chester as well as numerous extended family members.
Len was predeceased by his parents Charlie and Eva Chester, as well as his nephew Don Chester.
Len was born in Lethbridge on Oct. 2, 1938 and lived his life in Fort Macleod.
In 2003, after 43 years of dedicated service to the MD of Willow Creek, Len retired and was able to devote his new found spare time to perfect his woodworking talents.
Len was a loving man who never hesitated to lend a hand to family, friends and neighbours. Whether a task was big or small, you could always count on Len being there with his tools in hand and the expertise to get the job done. He touched the lives of many people and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2010, at Christ Church Anglican, 320 21st St., Fort Macleod, with Rev. Noel Wygiera officiating. Inurnment will follow in Fort Macleod Union cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Fort Macleod Community Support Beds c/o Ladies Auxiliary P.O. Box 520, Fort Macleod, T0L 0Z0.
