McMillan, Haze (nee Creighton)

Hazel Margaret McMillan, (nee Creighton), born Feb. 26, 1913, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, in Lethbridge.
Hazel was a resident of Fort Macleod from 1944–’57. During that time she worked at the Macleod Municipal Hospital and later as office nurse for Dr. Gordon. Her husband, John McMillan, was part of the large contingent of Greyhound bus drivers living in Macleod at that time.
The last 25 years were spent in Lethbridge with her second life partner, Leo Ell, who died last year. She was predeceased in 1983 by her husband of 40 years, John McMillan.
Hazel was a strong, hardworking woman, and a devoted mother. Her nursing career spanned nearly 50 years. Her sense of humour was evident until the day she died.
She will be missed by her loving family: brother, Ross Creighton of Toronto; son John (Nadine) McMillan of Vancouver; daughter Wynne (Bill) Edwards of Edmonton; daughter Dawn McMillan of Vancouver; grandchildren Erin and Ian (Eileen) Edwards of Edmonton, Grant, Lindsay and Alanna McMillan of Vancouver; and great grandchildren Brian Steele and Declan Edwards of Edmonton.
A memorial service will be held in Lethbridge on Monday, Sept. 20 at 12 noon, with lunch to follow, at the Cornerstone Funeral Home, 2800 Mayor Magrath Dr. S.
