Warriors can’t tame Mustangs in Macleod

The puck eludes Blood Tribe Warriors goalie Logan Heavy Shields for one of Fort Macleod Mustangs 12 goals on Saturday night.

Goaltender James Belisle turned away 30 shots Saturday night to lead Fort Macleod Mustangs to a 12-0 win over the visiting Blood Tribe Warriors.
Belisle got plenty of offensive support as the Mustangs peppered 65 shots at the Warriors goal on the way to extending their Ranchland Hockey League winning streak to eight games.
The Mustangs are in first place in the Smythe Division, and their 8-1 record is tops in the league.
Fort Macleod puts its winning streak on the line Saturday, Dec. 4 when they travel to Stand Off to play Kainai Chiefs at 8:30 p.m.

The Mustangs were under-manned Saturday night at the Fort Macleod and District Sports Centre, but they weren’t out-gunned.
Fort Macleod went into the game with just 11 skaters and one goalie. The Warriors by comparison had 16 skaters and two netminders.
The Mustangs got all the offence they would need on this night just 46 seconds into the game when Shae Ouellette set up Kevin Olson to break the ice.
Five minutes later Olson added his second of the game, with Tyce Gallamore and Tyler Bilodeau assisting.
Justin Van Herk scored at the 14-minute mark to make it 3-0, with Justin Donahue and Hayden Shackel assisting.
A minute and a half later Gallamore scored, with Olson picking up the lone helper.
Eight seconds into the second period Gallamore scored, unassisted, to make it 5-0 Fort Macleod.
Less than two minutes later Call Marr found the back of the net and it was 6-0.
There was no scoring for the rest of the second period until Gallamore set up Bilodeau for his second of the night with 1:11 left in the period to make it 7-0.
Gallamore completed his hat trick seven minutes into the third period, with Shackel picking up the assist.
Just over a minute later the Mustangs scored again. This time it was Shackel and Van Herk setting up Bilodeau.
Five minutes later Bilodeau completed his hat trick with an unassisted marker.
Bilodeau and Olson then combined to set up Gallamore for his fourth, and Ouellette closed out the scoring with 2:23 to play, with Shackel drawing the assist.

Tyce Gallamore of the Fort Macleod Mustangs watches as Blood Tribe Warriors goalie Logan Heavy Shields makes a save.
