Macleod run club starts marathon training plan

The Fort Macleod Running club will offer a marathon club in Fort Macleod.
The club’s training schedule will be designed to prepare members for the Woody’s RV World Marathon and half marathon on May 22 in Red Deer or the Legacy Half Marathon in Cardston at the end of May.
The club will offer a training schedule based on three runs per week, presentations on various running topics and Saturday morning runs.
Men and Women over 18 years of age are welcome to join. Runners should be able to comfortably run four miles before beginning the half marathon training program or six miles before beginning the marathon training program.
Saturday morning runs will begin and end at the arena in Fort Macleod.
The club will also offer guest speakers for some evening presentations.
The club hopes to see all of its regulars back along with some new faces.
Registration will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 12 at the Fort Macleod RCMP Centennial Library.
Marquise Bourdon-Harris, a long-time marathoner and running leader, will be available with advice on how to reach the finish line injury-free.
