Premier visits Fort Macleod on Thursday

Alberta’s top elected official and three cabinet ministers will be in town on Thursday.
Premier Ed Stelmach, Sustainable Resource Development Minister Mel Knight, Aboriginal Relations Minister Len Weber and Service Alberta Minister Heather Klimchuk will be in Fort Macleod.
Stelmach, Webber, Klimchuk and Livingstone-Macleod MLA Evan Berger will be at the Welcome Mat at 11 a.m. to meet with seniors.
Then at 12 noon at the Fort Macleod and District Community Hall, Stelmach will deliver his state of the province address. There will also be a question and answer period. The Chamber of Commerce has sold more than 110 tickets for lunch.
At 3 p.m. the premier and his ministers move to the Empress Theatre to discuss Bill 36, the Alberta Land Stewardship Act and Bill 19, the Land Assembly Project Act, with land owners.

  • Fort Macleod Fish and Game has cancelled its awards banquet set for Saturday, March 28.
  • The Empress Theatre in Fort Macleod is closed.
