Thea Chapman

Thea (Gram) Chapman passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 27, with her daughters at her side in Vernon, B.C. at the age of 86.
Thea was born Nov. 25, 1925 in Bonners Ferry, Idaho and came to Canada at a very young age where she attended school in Warner, Alta.
Thea was a long time resident of Fort Macleod, where she worked at F.P. Walshe high school until her retirement.
Thea was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 46 and was honoured as a life-time member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 46, Ladies Auxiliary. As a very active member and volunteer, Thea held many positions throughout the years: secretary-treasurer, president and district commander southern region. She travelled extensively as district commander and had many friends throughout southern Alberta.
Thea was an avid gardener spending hours attending to her flowers. She also enjoyed music, dancing and a game or two of cribbage but more than anything Thea enjoyed the time spent with family.
Thea was predeceased by her husband Jack Coyle, her husband Frank Chapman, her son Randy Coyle, son-in-law Stan Chapman and brother Norman Paulsen.
Thea will be sadly missed by her son Dorsey Dewitt of Everett, Washington; her daughters Jacquie Chapman of Vernon, B.C. and Cheri (David) Gibbons of Delta, B.C.; daughter-in-law Linda Coyle of Calgary; grandchildren Eric (Janice) of Surrey, B.C., Steven of Vernon, B.C., Stacey of Granite Falls, Washington, Jennifer (Don) of Vernon, B.C., Jason (Kristin) of Penticton, B.C., Erin and Nicole of Delta, B.C.; great grandchildren Tyler of Vernon, Shawn of Granite Falls, and Gabe of Vernon, B.C.; sister Helen Trockstad of Lethbridge, sisters-in-law Hazel Paulsen of Warner and Mona Morse of Calgary; along with several nieces, nephews and many close friends
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Peter and Bernice Beeson, Peggy Brown, Joe Boutland, Penny Craig and the Wing Nuts for all their help and support over the past few years.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Royal Canadian Legion in Fort Macleod. Tea to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 46, Ladies Auxiliary, Fort Macleod, T0L 0Z0.
