Miklos, John James

Mr. John James Miklos of Fort Macleod, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Helen Miklos, passed away on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012.
John was born on March 28, 1929 in Lafleche, Sask. On May 2, 1950 he married Helen S. Benyei in Lestock, Sask. Together they moved to Alberta in 1954 to work on Wilf Allen farm. They then purchased their own farm in 1957. They lived there until they sold and moved to town in 1993.
John was very active at the Welcome Mat, at the Bingo Hall in Lethbridge, and as a member of the Legion, Elks and Odd Fellows. He dedicated many years transporting seniors to and from Lethbridge for many different shopping trips.
John enjoyed his time with friends and family travelling across Canada, the northern United States and visiting family in the Yukon. He loved his time in the casino and was planning a trip to Vegas with his family in October, which would be the first time for everyone.
John was loved and will be missed by his daughter Doreen (Jim) Pahl; granddaughter Melanie (Dean) Brown and their children Jamie and Darius; grandson Sheldon (Eliza) Pahl and their children Rory and Harper; as well as many extended family.
John was predeceased by his wife Helen in August 2012 and son Wilfred James Miklos in 2009.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, Aug. 24th, 2012, at Mountain View Cemetery, Lethbridge at 11 a.m. Meet at the cemetery entrance.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 24, 2012, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 Fifth Ave., Fort Macleod, with Major Jack Cullen, officiating.
