Police dog tracks suspect

A police dog sniffed out a suspect on 26th Street Saturday after a purse and money was stolen from a Fort Macleod hair salon.
A 36-year-old man is charged with theft under $5,000 after a purse and money from the till were taken from Hair Creations.
The suspect was followed by a civilian witness to the 300 block of 26th Street, where he remained in hiding to elude the RCMP.
RCMP from Fort Macleod and Claresholm secured the area and the police dog service from Calgary was contacted.
The police dog quickly located the suspect hiding in a storage shed behind a residence in the area.
Cpl. Bryan Mucha said in a news release that during the arrest the suspect received superficial injuries from the police service dog and was treated at the Fort Macleod Health Centre.
Damon Kyle Reinbold will be in Fort Macleod provincial court on Wednesday, March 7 facing charges of theft under $5,000 breach of recognizance.
