On Wednesday, Feb. 13, 2013, at the age of 86 years, and after a short and courageous battle with cancer, Jim McNab passed away peacefully at the Fort Macleod Hospital.
Jim was predeceased by his parents Florence and Norman McNab and his daughter Lorraine McNab.
Jim is survived by his loving wife Helen; three children, Joan (Brian) King, Stan (Jean) McNab and Grant (Sharon) McNab; 10 grandchildren and three stepchildren, Ruth (Rick) Braddock, Carol (Moe) Torres and Rob (Kathy) Poole.
Jim moved to Twin Butte in 1946. In 1993 Jim married Helen (Ekelund ) Poole and they enjoyed 19 very happy years on the ranch at Twin Butte.
Jim loved his ranch life, the mountains, riding, hiking, snow shoeing and hiking the Bears Hump in Waterton. One summer Jim hiked the Bears Hump 27 times in preparation to hike the West Coast Trail. He was 70 years young.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2012, at Foothills Community Church, 1200 Ken Thornton Blvd., Pincher Creek.
