James Albert Kronlund, age 73, of Fort Macleod, passed away on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2014.
James was born in Loon Lake, Sask. to parents Johan (John) and Jessie Kronlund on Aug 26, 1941.
After high school James started working as an electrician and worked his way to become a master electrician.
James took a 10-year break from the electrical contracting field and built up a grain farm in Manitoba where he built his own home from the ground up. After farming he took a few more jobs in the electrical field, conracting as electrical superintendent for a number of big industrial projects such as hospital upgrades in Vancouver and Edmonton and a copper mine upgrade in Utah, before retiring in Kelowna, B.C.
James is survived by his sisters Lily Kronlund of Vancouver and Esther Knight of Winnipeg; brother Eric William Kronlund; and many nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his mother and father, Johan (John) and Jessie Kronlund; his dear wife Grace Helen Kronlund; sister Lucille Kronlund; and brothers Roy Kronlund and Howard Kronlund.
A memorial service will be held for James and his late beloved wife Grace Helen Kronlund at 2 p.m. Friday Oct. 24, 2014 at Christ Church Anglican, 320 21St St., Fort Macleod, with Rev. Pilar Gateman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fort Macleod Extendicare, P.O. Box 189 Fort Macleod, T0L 0Z0.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Fort Macleod Extendicare and all those in the community who took time to visit and encourage James during his time at Extendicare.
