Toth, James Allen

jim toth

James Allen Toth of Fort Macleod, husband and sweetheart of Carmen Adair Toth, passed away peacefully at Foothills Medical Centre on Thursday, Oct. 30, 2014, at the age of 62 years.
Jim and Carmen have three wonderful children that have amazing spouses — Jared Toth (Lindsay), Niki Olsen (Chris) and Talon Toth (Jocelyn); eight incredible grandkids — Jacob, Abby, Oliver, Boston, Oaklee, Ashlyn, Leo, and Scarlett — who all idolized Jim as the best “papa” in the world.
Jim was raised in Lethbridge by a loving family. Many family trips to Waterton started his love of the outdoors and the mountains. He loved hiking, fishing, kayaking and archery.
Jim was passionate about life and constantly learning. He could build a smoking computer, act as sound man or play a mean bass guitar in the band. If something new was on the horizon for the family, Jim did the research to decide which direction to go.
This kind, gentle man influenced many. As a young man he served a two-year mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Nagoya, Japan and has filled many church positions since. Many scouts enjoyed his leadership for years. He worked on the railway, for Canada Post and Bouvry Exports.
Jim loved his entire family dearly. He is survived by his parents, Joseph and Verna Toth; his siblings Jeanette Viola (Ray), Jolayne Banack (Barry), Wayne Toth (Susan), Dennis Toth (Cindy) and Terry Toth (Debbie); and a large extended family.
Friends may meet with the family and pay their respects on Saturday, Nov. 8, 2014 from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
The funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. at the Fort Macleod Stake Centre of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 643 20th St., Fort Macleod.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Eden’s Funeral Home. Phone 403-553-3772 or visit www.edensfuneralhome.com.
