Girl Guides returning to Fort Macleod

ROBIN KAUFMAN – GAZETTE CONTRIBUTOR
Girl Guides of Canada has had a wonderful relationship with Fort Macleod over the years.
For many years there were units ranging from Sparks to Guides in the community.
Chinook Area Girl Guides units have participated in the Santa Claus Parade as well as beautiful Camp Okeekun just across the river that provides a beautiful setting for campers to gather together from all across Alberta as well as from international locations.
Chinook Area Girl Guides would like to give you the opportunity to bring guiding back to your community.
Girl Guides of Canada is organizing a Spark and Brownie unit in Fort Macleod for girls aged five to eight years old.
An information and registration night will be held Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. at the Fort Macleod Guide/Scout Hall.
If you are new to guiding come and learn about Girl Guides of Canada and their passion for enabling girls and young women to grow into confident, self respecting, responsible community members — young women who are empowered to become the community leaders of tomorrow, who care about the environment and the people of their local and global communities.
Whether you are new to guiding or would love to see your daughter follow in your footsteps Girl Guides of Canada would love to hear from you.
For more information or to learn about volunteer opportunities contact the Girl Guides of Canada Chinook Area office at 403-328-0733.
