Ina Palmer, born Oct. 3, 1922, passed away Sunday, Jan.11, 2015.
Ina was born on Oct. 3, 1922 at the farm home in Robsart, Sask. to Olaf and Olina Teigen. There were six children: Emma (Gene) Swihart, Gordon (Barbara) Teigen, Olga (Walter) Hogg, Ina (Earl) Palmer, Edna (Bill) Behrman, Martha (Al) Flick.
When Ina was six years of age, her mother passed away and she was raised by her Uncle Ole and Aunt Gertie Wenaas and their family of six: Gudrun (Chester) Johnson, Opal (Alan) Lester, Paul (Marg and later Evelee) Wenaas, Olga (Ira) Smith, Myrtle (Ralph) Tiedeman, Orland (Margie and later Norma) Wenaas, and Orland’s twin, Oscar Wenaas.
Ina attended school at Robsart, Moose Jaw and Saskatoon. She clerked in Abotts’ Grocery store in Robsart. After attending Teacher’s College in Regina in 1942, Ina taught in rural schools in Saskatchewan, B.C. and Alberta for five years.
Ina worked at the Palomino Restaurant under Mr. Kreutzer and Marie Patterson and then at the Post Office for 13 years under Mrs. Walshe, Curt Butler, Gordon Burrows and Len Tilbe.
Ina married Earl Palmer in Fort Macleod on July 14, 1950. They had four children: Jacqueline (Glen) Burrows, and their children Jason, Chloe and Lane Burrows, Wade, Megan and Taylor Burrows, Angie (Mike) Findlay, Myka and Shea, Jaime (Chad) Gray and Peyton; Karen (Doug) Christie and their children Kate (Ryan) Vogelaar, Riley Black and Sarah Christie; Melanie (Shane) Brooks and their children Michael and Renae; and Tracy (Jackie) Palmer and their children Eric and Bradley.
Ina was predeceased by her husband Earl on Aug. 6, 2008.
Ina enjoyed many happy camping trips with family and friends. She loved to read, play cards, take daily walks and enjoyed living the past few years at the Pioneer Lodge. She loved her family and extended family dearly and felt very blessed to have been so welcomed into the Wenaas home at a very young age.

A celebration of life will be held at Trinity United Church, 220 20th St., Fort Macleod on Thursday, Jan. 15, 2015, at 2 p.m.
