Cecil Alfred Pickens of Fort Macleod, beloved husband of Pauline Pickens, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014, at the age of 87 years.
Cecil was born in Assiniboia, Sask. on May 21, 1927, and was raised on a farm north of Assiniboia called “Wheat Dale.”
Besides his loving wife of 55 years Pauline (O’Kute), Cecil is survived by his children Lorri (Gordon) Mackintosh, Sherri Day Chief (Joe Eagle Tail Feathers), Colleen (Ken) Anderson, Arlene (Neil) Coutts and Shannon Pickens; 19 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; two brothers from Assiniboia, Sask., Frank and George (Della); sister Doris Fergusson of Nanaimo, B.C.; sister-in-law Lola Pickens of Salmon Arms, B.C.; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Cecil was predeceased by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015, at Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church, 2604 Third Ave., Fort Macleod.
