Wartick, Dianne (Damery/Jackman)

1943-2015
Dianne (Damery/Jackman) Wartick, loving wife of Curtis Wartick, passed away unexpectedly Feb. 27, 2015, in Casper, Wyoming, joining our Heavenly Father.
Dianne was the first of six children born to Alfred and Neva Damery on March 8, 1943, in Medicine Hat.
Dianne married her loving husband, Curtis Wartick, 50 years ago in Banff.
Dianne and her husband and daughter, Candice, started a new chapter by leaving Canada to move to Casper, Wyoming in 1978. Because she loved her family, Dianne willingly changed careers from banking management to running their home as a loving wife and mother.
During this new chapter, Dianne discovered one of her greatest talents and passions: artistic expression. She painted murals throughout the community, and created and painted backdrops for many years for the Casper Figure Skating Club’s biannual ice shows.
In addition, Dianne was an expert seamstress and designed and sewed countless costumes for ice skaters and other performers.
She was devoted to helping the Nicolayson Art Museum and Boys and Girls Club and ran an art therapy program for at-risk children.
She also taught many art classes, including tole painting, watercolours, knitting, crocheting, and sewing.
Dianne’s life purpose and philosophy was to give to others through her artistic talents, mentorship and community service. Her wisdom impacted so many because she loved helping others, and encouraged others by example to, “Shoot for the moon. Even if you miss you’ll land among the stars.”
Dianne was preceded in death by her beloved grandmother Lavada Jackman; her uncle and aunts Dick and Erma Jackman, Bob and Ethyl Jackman, Dodie Walters, Lester Jackman; her parents Neva and Fred Damery; and niece and nephew Nicole and Steven.
Dianne is survived by her loving family which includes her husband of 50 years, Curt Wartick; their daughter Candice Baker and her husband Kenny Baker; granddaughter Payton, 14; grandson Sterling, 5; all of Casper, Wyoming.
Dianne’s Canadian family includes her sister Peggy and husband Mark Merstorf and their three children Michael, Amber, and Mandy and her sister Barb and husband Gordon McArthur and their two children Paige and Michelle, all of Calgary; her sister Linda and husband Jim Davidson of Nakusp, B.C.; her sister Kathy and husband Cal McLaughlin and their two children Sommer and Curt; brother Jack Damery and wife Denise of Tamworth, Ont. and Jack’s two children Darrin and Jason of Creston, B.C.
Dianne was so very much loved and will always be remembered in the hearts of all who knew her, especially her family.
A memorial service to celebrate Dianne’s joyous life will be held Saturday, April 25, 2015, at 1 p.m. at Eden’s Funeral Chapel, Rev. Eras Van Zyl officiating with grave site service to follow at Union Cemetery. All friends and family are welcome.
