Ken Brown, beloved husband of Irene Brown, passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Health Centre on Friday, April 1, 2016.
Besides his loving wife Irene, Ken will be lovingly remembered by daughters Shyrll (Dennis) Jorgensen, Colleen (Allan) Jorgensen and Corall (Trevor) Wilson; grandchildren Shanette (Rob), Lynsay, Kirste and Ethan Jorgensen; Serena (Anthony) and Cory Jorgensen; Aiden (Samantha), Shaina, Brianna, Keela and Tieran Wilson; numerous great grandchildren; seven brothers; and six sisters.
Ken was predeceased by two brothers and one sister.
Kenneth Wesley Brown was born June 25, 1932 in Deloraine Man. He was one of 13 children.
Ken left home at about 13 years old to work in northern Manitoba, where he worked on many, many camp jobs, usually as foreman. Ken also spent many years in Labrador and Newfoundland working.
Ken met his wife Irene in 1978 in Estevan Sask., and they have been together ever since.
Ken ran a personal company in Calgary doing home renovations. Ken was a superintendent for multiple jobs — the Olympic Stadium for the Olympics in Calgary, Cambie Street Bridge in Vancouver, Subway on Pine street in Seattle Washington, and on the Oldman River Dam.
During his years in Fort Macleod, Ken worked in the Blood Reserve installing irrigation systems, clearing snow, and collecting scrap.
Ken had an extraordinary life with incredible accomplishments. He touched many lives and helped many people.
A celebration of Ken’s life will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 18, 2016, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 Fifth Ave., Fort Macleod.
