Modernization of Fort Macleod schools on schedule

The modernization of W.A. Day and F.P. Walshe schools in Fort Macleod is still on schedule for completion so students will be in there in the fall.
At its April 11 meeting, Livingstone Range School Board was updated on the project by associate superintendent of business services Jeff Perry.
“The timeline is on track,” said Perry in an interview after the meeting, noting students will be in the buildings by Sept. 1.
Interior work is progressing on W.A. Day, with drywall, painting, and mill work in the classrooms.
The gathering place is taking shape, and the Kids First area is moving along, where the mill work is complete.
At F.P. Walshe, the west side classrooms are nearing completion.
The gathering space, administrative area, and commercial kitchen are also taking shape.
Invitations have also been sent out to the ministers of education and infrastructure for a grand opening event in the later part of September.
