Alberta SouthWest elects new board

The Alberta SouthWest Regional Economic Alliance has a new board of directors.
Representatives from 16 member communities met following the municipal elections to form a new board.
Dr. Brian (Barney) Reeves, a councillor, with Waterton Improvement District No. 4, is the new chairman
Fort Macleod Mayor Brent Feyter is vice-chairman.
Scott Korbett, a councillor with the Town of Pincher Creek, is secretary-treasurer.
Jim Bester, reeve of Cardston County was appointed designated signing authority.
Other board are MD of Willow Creek Coun. John Van Driesten, Nanton Coun. Beryl West, Stavely Coun. Dale Gugala, Claresholm Coun. Donna Courage, Granum Coun. Duncan McLean, MD of Pincher Creek Reeve Quentin Stevick, Cowley Mayor Warren Mickels, MD of Ranchland Coun. Ron Davis, Municipality of Crowsnest Pass Mayor Blair Painter, Town of Cardston Coun. Dennis Barnes, Village of Glenwood Coun. Albert Elias, and Village of Hill Spring Coun. Monte Christensen.
Alberta SouthWest Regional Alliance is a group of 16 communities, working together for regional economic development
Collaborative initiatives focus on creating a positive environment in which balanced growth can occur, increasing prosperity for all members.
Aligned with Alberta Economic Development and Trade, the regional economic development alliance implements regional economic development projects and services, and is a key focal point for regional and provincial information-sharing.
Since 2009 Alberta SouthWest has received more than 30 provincial and national awards for projects and marketing initiatives.
