Fort Macleod Allied Arts hosts Shari Ulrich in house concert

Two-time Juno Award winner will perform at a house concert Thursday, Sept. 27 at Fort Macleod Allied Arts. Shari Ulrich takes the stage at 7:30 p.m., accompanied by Julia Graff and Kirby Barber. Originally a California girl, long settled on the west coast of Canada, Ulrich is marking 45 years as a touring recording artist and multi-instrumentalist (violin, mandolin, piano, guitar, dulcimer and harmonica). From Pied Pumkin through to The Hometown Band, and on as a solo artist, Ulrich has released 23 albums including her collaboration with solo artists Bill Henderson, Roy Forbes, Barney Bentall, Tom Taylor and The High Bar Gang, a seven-piece bluegrass band with Bentall and Colin Nairne. Ulrich’s work has garnered two Juno Awards, several Juno nominations, induction into the B.C. Entertainment Hall of Fame, and a 2014 CFMA for English Songwriter of the Year. Ulrich brings to Fort Macleod her trio which includes her daughter Julia Graff on violin, mandolin, guitar, accordion and vocals and fellow High Bar Gang member Kirby Barber on bass, guitar and vocals. Ulrich will feature songs from her new solo album as well as from her extensive body of work from four decades as a songwriter. Tickets are available at Bloem Floral Design and Next Home and Garden.
