Moore, Marjorie

marjorie moore

On Friday, April 6 2018, Marjorie Jean Moore (nee Hamilton) passed away at home in Spruce Grove at the age of 67 years.
Marjie is survived by her loving family: husband James Moore; her daughters, Lisa (Ben Wickstrom) and Trish (Kenny Riddell); her grandsons, Camden and Declan; her siblings Dorothy and Ken; many beloved nieces and nephews, cousins and their families.
Marjie was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Jack and Earl and James’s parents Chris and Rhoda (nee Stansfield).
Marjie was born June 28, 1951 in Fort Macleod to Hector and Maggie Hamilton (nee Murdock). She was the youngest of five children by many years and was the baby of the family.
Marjie attended F.P. Walshe high school in Fort Macleod and married James Moore there in 1972. The two settled in Slave Lake for many years and raised two daughters, Lisa and Trish.
Marjie adored her children and her grandchildren Camden and Declan. She had an undeniable gift for working with children — kids with special needs in particular — and touched the lives of many families through her work in daycares and schools in Slave Lake.
Marjie struggled with health problems in recent years but never lost her passion for children and her family.
Marjie will be remembered for her love of family and friends and as a voracious sports fan who loved curling, football and hockey.
Remembrance events will be held in the coming months in Spruce Grove and Fort Macleod. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Marjie’s name to the University of Alberta Hospital Foundation or the Edmonton Humane Society.
