Vern Seely

Vern Fawns Seely, formerly of Stirling and Fort Macleod, passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritans West Highlands surrounded by family on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at the age of 93 years.
Vern is lovingly remembered by his five children, Lloyd (Tricia) of St. George, UT, Sandy of Somers, MT, Brian (Judy) of Overton, NV, Janice (Gord) of Pincher Creek, and Louise (Karl) of Creston, B.C. as well as 22 grandchildren, 64 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Vern will be missed by many other extended family and friends.
Vern was predeceased by Kaye, his wife of 66 years, whom he has missed greatly; his parents, Artie and Ovedia Seely; as well as his five siblings, Deloy (Elva), Pearl (Ray), Melvin (Enid), Twila (Walter) and Ludene (Rod).
Vern loved farming and caring for the land and animals. He was a hardworking, fun-loving and kind man. He was very social and loved gatherings with family and friends especially when games, music and dancing were involved. He loved good food, and picnics at the farm were his favourite. His five children were precious to him and he enjoyed playing and working with them, sharing his many skills and talents. Vern loved to serve the Lord and his church. He was a generous and giving man, lending a hand to anyone in need.
As a father, grandfather and friend, Vern was well-loved and will be greatly missed.
A funeral service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Copperwood Ward, 9 Keystone Terrace West, Lethbridge, on Saturday, July 7, 2018, at 11 a.m. with Bishop Sheldon McLachlan officiating.
Interment to follow at the Stirling Cemetery.
