Asuchak, Leslie (Les) Tevidar

Sept. 31, 1932 — Aug. 30, 2019

Born Sept. 31, 1932 in Fort Macleod, Leslie (Les) Tevidar Asuchak passed away Friday, Aug. 30, 2019, in Calgary.
Although we have lost our dad, grandpa, brother, uncle, friend and all-round jokester we do so with unbelievable memories that are filled with outrageous smiles and heartfelt thoughts.
Les leaves behind his five kids, Garry (Lisa) Asuchak, Ed (Tammy) Asuchak, Linda Asuchak, Judy Asuchak and Ben (Wanda) Asuchak; 12 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; sisters Margie Rahovie and Ethel Asuchak; and brothers Joe (Lynn) Asuchak, Jim (Judy) Asuchak and John (Joyce) Asuchak.
Dad was predeceased by his wife of 39 years Marjorie Elizabeth; father Vasile (Pappa); mother Ethel (Nanny); his brothers Mike, George and Bob; and grandson David.
The stories that were told and jokes that were played are what made dad special. He always spoke well of others and was willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed it. We’re sure the citizens of Fort Macleod will miss seeing Les drive up and down main street on his scooter waiving and smiling and talking with all the passersby.
Dad’s unbelievable work ethic garnered him tremendous respect in the “oil patch.” Working for months on end often with “more than 24 hours in a day.”
He had such a common sense about him that is rare in this day and age that no mechanical project was too big of match for the guy who could logically come up with a solution for any problem. Getting down on his knees or pushing his false teeth out to play with his grandkids brought wonder to their eyes.
To honour these and all his other many awesome traits garnered over a lifetime of almost 87 years we would like all those touched by dad to gather with us in Fort Macleod on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019, to celebrate his life from 12:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. at Trinity United Church Hall.
