Marg was born in Netherhill, Sask. to Walter and Dorothy Anderson on Sept. 18, 1927. She passed away at Fort Macleod Extendicare on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019.
Marg was raised on the family farm until leaving home at 16 to complete school in a larger centre. After high school, Marg headed west to Alberta and British Columbia, working at various jobs including the famed O’Keefe Ranch where she became good friends with Betty O’Keefe. Marg met Herb in Calgary and they were married on June 29, 1953. Soon after, Herb and Marg settled in Fort Macleod.
Marg was predeceased by her parents Walter and Dorothy; infant sister Dorothy; brother Clarence; as well as several in-laws.
Marg is survived by her husband of 66 years, Herb; son Rex; two grandchildren and their spouses; five great grandchildren; son Warren; daughter Sherrill (Kevin) Conner; grandchildren Leanne (Zane), Elyse (Jesse) and Chad (Henriette); great grandchildren Alex, Kaylin and Carter; and brother Lawrence Anderson.
Marg will be fondly remembered for her generosity, fabulous cooking and baking, and working as an LPN at the hospital.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. On Monday, Nov. 4, 2019, at the Fort Macleod Alliance Church, 1717 7A Ave., Fort Macleod with Pastor Kevin Roberts officiating.
