Firearms, drugs seized in Fort Macleod

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) and Fort Macleod RCMP seized drugs and weapons during an April 29 raid on a residence.

A 47-year-old woman is charged with drug and weapons offences following a bust in Fort Macleod.

The Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) in partnership with Fort Macleod RCMP seized methamphetamine, cocaine and suspected carfentanil.

ALERT Lethbridge’s organized crime team concluded a short-term drug trafficking investigation April 29 by executing a search warrant at a home in Fort Macleod.

Alberta Sheriffs’ Safer Communities and Neighbourhoods (SCAN) team and Alberta Health Services also provided assistance.

ALERT seized three rifles from the home, alongside about $26,000 in drugs and cash.

The seized items included:

  • 25 grams of suspected carfentanil.
  • 56 grams of methamphetamine.
  • 15 grams of cocaine.
  • $14,175 cash.

A 47-year-old woman is charged with possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and multiple firearms offences.
