Man faces drug trafficking charges

An 18-year-old man faces drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop in Claresholm.

Claresholm RCMP stopped a vehicle about 5:45 p.m. April 12 on Eighth Street West in Claresholm.

A search of the vehicle turned up 30 grams of cocaine, 16 grams of methamphetamine (crystal meth), various drug trafficking items and paraphernalia.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle was arrested and held for investigation.

Jacob Peddle is charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine and is to appear in Fort Macleod provincial court on Aug. 5.
