Southern Alberta RCMP seize stolen property

The RCMP’s Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit seized three pickups and other stolen property from a residence in the De Winton area.

Police are looking fr the owner of one of the pickups as well as hand tools with the initials “SDK” on them.

RCMP executed a search warrant on Oct. 23 following an investigation into a prolific offender.

“RCMP consider the arrest of this prolific offender significant as he has been active in multiple RCMP and municipal police jurisdictions including Olds, Didsbury and Sundre.” said Sgt. Gary Maclaren of the Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit.

The RCMP arrested the 35-year-old man on Oct. 22 on outstanding warrants.

Mitchell Engler of no fixed address, faces 23 charges including flight from police, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, possession of stolen property and failing to comply with conditions of release.

Engler has been remanded into custody and will appear in Calgary provincial court on Nov. 2.
