F.P. Walshe Flyers knocked off Matthew Halton Hawks on Saturday to place third at the Oilfields Drillers senior high girls basketball tournament at Black Diamond.
The Flyers won their opening game Friday but lost in the semifinals on Saturday, which put them in the thrid-place playoff later that day.
Flyers 65 FFCA 15
F.P. Walshe was dominant in its opening game of the tournament.
The Flyers thumped Foundations for the Future Charter Academy 65-15 on Friday night.
The Flyers led 25-0 after the first quarter and 34-6 at halftime.
Tess Provost had 12 points for the Flyers, Carson Smith had 11 and Cheyenne George had 10.
Teairra Bad Eagle and Sloane Grier each had nine points for F.P. Walshe, Lalaine Mendoza had five, Josephina Webber had four, and Alejandra Vega Solan had one.
Wildcats 39 Flyers 28
Their win Friday night sent the Flyers into the semifinals against Webber Academy Wildcats.
The Wildcats scratched out a 39-28 win in a hard-fought battle.
Tess Provost and Sloane Grier each scored eight points for F.P. Walshe and Josephina Weber had six.
Alejandra Vega Solana had four points for the Flyers and Lalaine Mendoza had two.
The loss sent the Flyers into the third-place game and a meeting with Chinook Basketball League rival Matthew Halton hawks from Pincher Creek.

F.P. Walshe poured in 19 fourth quarter points Saturday to edge Matthew Halton Hawks 56-52 in the third-place game.
The Hawks opened a commanding 16-4 lead in the first quarter and were up 29-19 at halftime.
The Flyers narrowed the lead to 39-35 in the third quarter before completing the comeback in the fourth.
Lalaine Mendoza had 19 points for the Flyers and Josephina Weber had 15.
Cheyenne George scored six, Karli Coast had five, Carson Smith had four, Alejandra Vega Solan had three and Sloane Grier had two.
