RCMP seek public’s help with investigation

The RCMP Major Crimes Unit is investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Friday in a rural area south of Pincher Creek,

Police are seeking dash cam footage from motorists who travelled in the area of Highway 505 and Range Road 291A between 4 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m. Friday.

Anyone who may have footage, or who saw suspicious vehicles or activity in that area, is asked to contact Pincher Creek RCMP at 403-627-6000.

The woman’s body was discovered about 7:55 a.m. Friday.

The RCMP issued a news release with a composite sketch of the woman, a photo of some jewelry she was wearing, and images of a few distinctive tattoos.

The woman was described as Caucasian, 25-45 years of age, about five foot five and 100 pounds, with a slim build and light brown hair dyed orange or red.

Those images helped police tentatively identify the woman. Her name was not released.
