Two injured in highway crash

Two people were sent to hospital Monday following a three-vehicle crash west of Fort Macleod.

Fort Macleod RCMP and emergency medical services responded about 12:15 p.m. Monday to a crash three kilometres west of town on Highway 3.

RCMP media relations officer Cpl. Tammy Keibel said in a news release that three motor vehicles were involved in the crash, including a four-door sedan, an SUV and a pickup pulling a travel trailer.

The lone male occupant of the sedan sustained serious injuries and was flown to hospital by STARS air ambulance.

A second man who was driving the SUV was transported by EMS to hospital with minor injuries.

The male and female occupants of the pickup truck and trailer were not injured.

Traffic was diverted for several hours while the RCMP collision analyst assisted with the investigation.
