Willow Creek MD supports two air ambulance services

The MD of Willow Creek has historically contributed $10,000 to STARS air ambulance but, with the advent of another air ambulance service, has decided to split the funding between the two services.
The decision came at the May 12 council meeting after the matter of the funding was raised by director of finance Johanne Hannas.
Hannas explained in the past Willow Creek MD gave $10,000 to STARS but last year council gave some funding to HALO which is based in Medicine Hat.

Hannas asked how council wanted that $10,000 allocated this year?
Coun. Ian Sundquist, participating via video conference, said HALO has never flown to Claresholm General Hospital.

Reeve Maryanne Sandberg said HALO was called out to the Granum-Fort Macleod area.

Coun. Evan Berger suggested $7,500 go to STARS and $2,500 go to HALO.

Council concurred and agreed to send $7,500 to STARS and $2,500 to HALO.
