It is with great sadness the family of Beverly Marie Hoglund, of Fort Macleod, announce her passing on Friday, April 29, 2022, at the age of 86. 

Beverly was born in Wrentham, Alta. on Aug. 3, 1935, to Melvin and Lois Hanson. She is survived by her beloved husband of 68 years, Kenneth; her six daughters, Marilyn (Ritchie) Dunn, Sandra Hoglund, Joanne (Jeff) Romanuik, Gail Hoglund, Noreen Hoglund, and Cindy (Mitch) Brown; four grandchildren, Wesley Dunn, Lindsay (Steve) Adams, Mark (Erin) Romanuik, and Melissa (Russ) Bedell; six great grandchildren, Jordan Dunn, Elyse and Kaley Romanuik, Ty, Jase and Sadie Bedell; sister, Joyce Reid; brother, Wayne (Karon) Hanson; brothers-in-law Gary (Valerie) Hoglund, Marvin (Gaynor) Hoglund, Jack (Judy) Hoglund, Ben (Darlene) Hoglund; sister-in-law, Eileen (Keith) Schwindt; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Melvin Hanson in 1984, mother Lois Hanson in 2004, brother Don Hanson in 2014, brothers-in-law Neal Hoglund, Merv Fox, and Gerry Reid, sister-in-law Kathleen Fox and nephew Dale Fox.

Mom attended school in Raymond from 1941-’46; Eugene, Oregon from 1946-’48 and then finished her education in Granum.

Bev and Ken were married in Granum on June 18, 1953. They started their married life in Fort Macleod and moved to Granum for a short time, then on to Woodhouse. The family moved to Coleman for two years and then back to Fort Macleod in 1967.

In 1967 Bev started work in the laundry department at the Fort Macleod hospital and when the laundry department closed, she went to work at the Treasury Branch where she stayed until her retirement. She made many good friends during her time at both the hospital and Treasury Branch. Bev treasured her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved camping with them in the Gap, Sandpoint, Vancouver Island and Lac des Iles, Sask. Bev enjoyed playing bridge, going to live theater, crocheting, reading, and watching curling.

She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 Fifth Ave., Fort Macleod.
