F.P. Walshe Flyers added a pair of tournament championships in recent senior high boys volleyball play.
The Flyers went unbeaten on Friday and Saturday to win the Crash the Cave tournament at St. Mike’s school in Pincher Creek.
The Flyers did not lose a set on their way to the tournament final, where they met the host Dragons.
The Flyers won the first set 25-19 and secured the match, and the championship, with a tight 27-25 win in the second set.
The previous weekend the Flyers claimed the championship of the Double Blue tournament at St. Mary’s school in Taber.
The senior Flyers went undefeated in round-robin and playoffs to reach the championship match against Immanuel Christian Eagles.
The Flyers opened that match with a 25-20 win in the first set, but the Eagles charged back to stay alive with a 25-17 win in the second set.
In the third and deciding set the Flyers grounded the Eagles 15-7 to claim the Double Blue championship.

The Flyers also won a pair of regular season Westwinds Volleyball League matches last week.
The senior boys beat the host Livingstone Sabres three sets to two in Lundbreck on Oct. 18.
The following night the Flyers caged the visiting Crowsnest Pass Panthers 3-1.
The game against Crowsnest Pass was the final regular season home game for the Flyers, so the team took the opportunity to honour its senior players.
The senior Flyers are John Pineda, Jared Gurney, Theo McDougall, Mathias Rippin, Zach Grant, Ben Oosterwijk, Nate Keller, Ryan Burrows, Sandro Brussee and Hayden Archibald.
The junior varsity Flyers also won both of their matches last week.
The Flyers edged Livingstone Sabres two sets to one on Oct. 18.
The next night, F.P. Walshe beat Crowsnest Pass 3-0.
The JV Flyers are Logan Boot, Rylan Baxter, Ethan Baxter, AJ Poytress, Kornell Vandenhoek, Travis Loyst, Carter Henderson, Logan Van Herk and Jacon Allen.
