Fort Macleod Mustangs suffer two home losses

The losses continue to pile up for Fort Macleod Mustangs.

The Mustangs lost a pair of weekend Ranchland Hockey League games on home ice to see their record drop to 0-5.

The Mustangs are back in action Saturday, Nov. 5 with a trip to Siksika to take on the Buffaloes.

Nanton 10 Mustangs 2

The Mustangs stayed with the Palominos for a while Friday night but ran out of gas in a 10-2 loss.

Nanton led 2-1 after the first period and 5-1 after 40 minutes before finishing off the Mustangs with five goals in the third.

Lane Young Pine and Ty Provost scored for Fort Macleod and Justin Donahue, Chase Honess and Wilfred North Peigan each had an assist.

Daniel Wenham made 35 saves and allowed six goals in 46 minutes in the Fort Macleod goal. Devon Hardie allowed four goals on 15 shots in 14 minutes of work.

Fort Macleod managed just 18 shots on Nanton goalie Matthew McDonald.

Buffaloes 10 Mustangs 1

Siksika scored six goals in the opening period Saturday night in Fort Macleod on their way to 10-2 victory.

The Mustangs went into the game with just eight skaters.

Justin Donahue had the only goal for Fort Macleod, assisted by Wilfred North Peigan.

Wenham faced 35 shots in goal for Fort Macleod.
