Macleod Chamber hosts speaker, author Irvine

Fort Macleod business owners will get advice Friday, June 3 on how they can move forward together after the pandemic.

The Chamber of Commerce is presenting author and international speaker David Irvine at 1 p.m. June 3 at the Empress Theatre.

“We are thrilled to have David Irvine coming to present to us here in Fort Macleod at our Empress Theatre,” Chamber administrative assistant Sydney Tobler said.

Irvine’s presentation, which runs from 1-3 p.m., is titled “Moving Forward Together — How to Make the Comeback Better than the Setback.”

On his Web site, Irvine notes he has expertise in authentic leadership; organizational culture; sustainable accountability; embracing change; and the well-being of leaders and their families.

“I work to inspire and guide leaders — at all levels of organizations and from all walks of life — to their authentic, accountable selves, enabling them to increase their influence in the world,” Irvine wrote.

“I will guide you to look inward toward the hardest realities of your life and guide you to true, authentic leadership.”

Irvine has advanced degrees in human development, science and social work, with more than 35 years of experience as a family therapist, workshop facilitator, lecturer and advisor to executives.

Irvine has worked with public, private, not-for-profit, family business and entrepreneurial sectors across North America.

He has taught courses at three universities and the Banff Centre.

Irvine has also written seven books with more than 300,000 copies sold world-wide.

“David is sought after internationally as a speaker, author, and trusted leadership advisor,” Tobler noted. “His work has contributed to the building of accountable, dynamic and engaged organizations across North America.”

“As one of Canada’s most respected voices on leadership, organizational culture, and personal development, David has dedicated his life to creating workplaces, communities, and families that foster accountability, authenticity, and caring.”

The afternoon will be followed by a Mix n’ Mingle hosted by MNP at Stronghold Brewing.
