Livingstone Range School Division last week announced that Susan Stacheruk has been named acting assistant principal of F.P. Walshe School in Fort Macleod beginning in the 2023-2024 school year.
Stacheruk and Greg Freer will both serve as assistant principals to support the entire school community.
Principal Chad Jensen said Stacheruk’s leadership will benefit F.P. Walshe students and staff.
“Susan will bring positive energy and genuine care for students to our admin team,” Jensen said. “I am very much looking forward to working with Susan in her new role next year.”
Stacheruk holds a bachelor of arts degree in physical education from Augustana University, a bachelor of education degree from the University of Alberta, and a masters of arts in administration and supervision from Gonzaga University.
Stacheruk began teaching in Livingstone Range School Division in 2000 and has taught at F.P. Walshe for the last 14 years.
Stacheruk has served as professional development representative, athletic director, and learning support lead.
Helping to continue the positive school culture at the school, Stacheruk is enthusiastic about her new position.
“I am looking forward to joining the leadership team at F.P. Walshe,” Stacheruk said. “I feel we are building a safe and caring school environment, where all learners belong. I am excited about the new programs Wings and Connections that help students thrive.”
Stacheruk has a son and daughter. Her daughter will play hockey this fall at Mount Royal University, while her son plays hockey in the winter and lacrosse in the spring and summer. This summer the family will travel to California and Ontario for lacrosse.
When not supporting her kids’ sports, Stacheruk spends time with her partner, golfing, travelling, watching other sports, and gardening in the summer.
