MP seeks nominations for King’s Coronation medals

Foothills MP John Barlow has 20 medals for outstanding individuals in his community.

The Member of Parliament is accepting nominations for the new King Charles III Coronation Medal.

“I am thrilled to have the honour to recognize the extraordinary individuals who have helped build and shape our community and country,” Barlow said.

Barlow is excited for the chance to recognize outstanding achievement and contribution to our community.

“The King Charles III Coronation Medal is not just an award; it’s a testament to the strength, compassion, and dedication of our community members,” Barlow said. “Let’s come together to nominate those who have made an exceptional difference in Foothills.”

To be eligible for this honour, a person must have:

  • Made significant contributions to the country, a province, territory, region or community, or made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
  • Been alive on May 6, 2023, the date His Majesty was crowned.
  • To be nominated through the Barlow’s office the individual must live within the Foothills Electoral District.
  • A medal can be awarded posthumously provided the recipient was alive on May 6, 2023, the date of The King’s coronation.

A nomination is to be sent to john.barlow.C1@parl.gc.ca or mailed to 109 Fourth Ave., S.W., P.O. Box 5448, High River, Alta., T1V 1M5.

The deadline for nominations is 11:59 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 15.
