The Vault to host open house

Fort Macleod residents are invited Monday, Aug. 12 for a close-up look at the town’s newest professional office building.

The Vault at 202 24th St. will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday.

Danny and Mackenzie Hengerer bought the historic former bank building from Alain Dubreuil and converted it to a co-work professional office space.

The Vault will offer co-working spaces; private office rentals; meeting room rentals; and event space for community groups, families, and non-profits.

The project began when Mackenzie Hengerer’s business, HR Advantage, needed an office space to meet with clients, employees, and community members.

After years of antique shopping at the Java Shop, they approached Alain Dubreuil about buying the historic Bank of Commerce building earlier this year and took possession in May.

HR Advantage provides outsourced human resources services and works from a multitude of different spaces, buildings, and work sites.

Their work has shown them how important it can be for a small business to have affordable, available space in a rural community.

Through their time working and living in the community, the Hengerers know Fort Macleod and district an attractive market

“We love Fort Macleod, and wanted to create a space that can be utilized by many groups and people within the community — non-profit, entrepreneurs, artists, families, and working professionals,” Mackenzie said.

Danny Hengerer has been diligently restoring the upstairs of The Vault for the past month, with plans to work on the second floor next.

Community members will be able to watch the ongoing renovations on the building.

“While we are primarily focusing on the interior, you will see new double-pane windows installed, with historical wood features being added in the coming months,” Mackenzie said.

The business will be driven by the philosophy “Community, collaboration, and creativity.”

The space is designed to be welcoming and versatile, catering to the needs of various groups within the community.

“We prioritize creating a supportive and collaborative environment,” Mackenzie said.

The focus on historical preservation combined with modern amenities, and a commitment to serving a diverse range of community members, visitors, and professional working nomads will set The Vault apart from other similar businesses.

At present, The Vault is shared by HR Advantage, Willow Creek Adult Learning, and The Compass Realty Team with available daily rentals of offices and the boardroom.

The Vault will be open Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with after-hours rentals available in the evenings and on weekends.
