Burrows, Audrey June (nee Vair)

Audrey June Burrows (nee Vair) passed away peacefully at the age of 53, after a short but courageous battle with cancer on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017, at Chinook Regional Hospital with her loved ones by her side.
Audrey was born on Oct. 25, 1964 in Fort Macleod to John and Evelyn Vair.
Audrey was the youngest of three children. She was raised in Fort Macleod and continued to live there for her entire life.
Audrey was married to Butch (Vernon) Burrows and had four children; Ricky, Jody, Damien and Kelsey. Ricky Passed away at three months of age from SIDS and Kelsey passed away at 18 hours old from being too premature.
Together, Audrey and Butch raised Jody and Damien in Fort Macleod.
Audrey had a huge heart full of love and kindness for animals, particularly for her dogs and cats. She also loved Christmas time with her family, especially waking up early with excitement on Christmas morning.
When Audrey made friends, she loved them like family and gave her whole heart to them. She enjoyed coffee with friends and family at the Java Shop and playing the slots at the Westerner Restaurant. She also enjoyed camping out at St. Mary’s Reservoir and spending time on the computer playing games and talking to friends.
She very much loved the simple life.
Audrey is survived by her daughter Jody Burrows of Lethbridge; her son Damien Burrows of Fort Macleod; her brother Lyle Vair of Fort Macleod; her sister Jackie Gillespie of Preeceville, Sask.; her aunt, Betty Perrin of Fort Macleod; her niece Alisha Velthuis (David); her nephew Ryan Deisting (Crystal); her great nieces Jayme, Cassidy and Janaya; her great nephews Chandler, Cadence, Zachary, Cage, Jonah and Luke; and many cousins.
Audrey was predeceased by her grandparents; her two children Ricky and Kelsey; her mother Evelyn Vair; her father John Vair; her uncle Harvey Perrin; and her brother-in-law, Peter Gillespie.
A come-and-go reception will be held between 2-4 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017, at Eden’s Funeral Home, 2424 Fifth Ave., Fort Macleod.
In lieu of flowers monetary donations may be made to any local animal shelter or humane society.
