Morgan Klaiber saddles up for show at Empress

KIM BERRETH, GAZETTE CONTRIBUTOR

It will be a sweetheart of a night when Morgan Klaiber comes to town on Friday, Feb. 13 at 7:30 p.m. for a special country Valentine’s show.

Klaiber, a Medicine Hat-based songstress as well as a cowgirl, is the best kept secret of the west.

As the 2024 winner of the coveted Rising Star Search at Canada’s most storied country club — Calgary’s Ranchman’s — Klaiber’s talent has been on full display with a steady stream of high impact performances, including two memorable shows at Country Thunder Alberta, and The Big Valley Jamboree.

With sharp wit, a dazzling smile, genuine cowgirl cred, and a voice that can belt out anything from Led Zeppelin to Dolly Parton, it’s no wonder Klaiber’s brand has been so appealing to her ever- growing fan base.

As comfortable on horseback working cattle on the family’s heritage land as she is performing on some of Canada’s biggest stages, Klaiber values hard work, something she learned on the ranch and brings to the music business.

In late 2024, Klaiber debuted her freshly released album Hardgrass Country to a sold-out hometown audience, setting the country music industry on fire with what fans from across Alberta are calling “one of the best albums of the year.”

That status was solidified in March of 2025 with an Album of the Year win at the Country Music Alberta Awards, making waves as a completely independent project.

With an unforgettable mix of masterfully written tales of the western way of life and high-octane honkytonk bangers, there is truly something for everyone on Klaiber’s record, showcasing just how versatile she is not just as a vocalist, but also as a songwriter.

Tickets to see Morgan Klaiber are at macleodempress.com, by calling 403- 553-4404 or at the Box Office on Main Street.
