wilma schnarr

Wilma was born in Tuberose, Sask. on Sept. 24, 1928. She passed away peacefully in her home on Monday, March 11, 2013.
Wilma is survived by her son Tracy (Jean) Schnarr and their son Jordan of Lethbridge.
She was predeceased by her son Kendle; husband Clarence (Sandy) Schnarr; parents Chester and Annie Williams; and sister Louise McLeod.
Wilma attended registered nurse training at the Calgary General Hospital in 1947 and graduated in 1950. She then moved to Fort Macleod where she met and married Sandy. They adopted Kendle in 1961 and Tracy 11 months later.
As a family they enjoyed many a camping trip and prior to having kids of their own Wilma volunteered as the camp nurse for the Cubs and United Church Canyon Camp and also once her boys were Cubs. When Wilma became a grandma she passed on her love of camping and looked forward to each summer taking her grandson and his friend camping for a week to Zoeteman Park.
Wilma was very proud to say that she was a nurse and enjoyed talking about her experiences over the years. She retired in 1987 after 32 years of dedicated service but missed her colleagues so they all arranged to meet once a month for a dutch treat supper. They called themselves the “Survivors” and continue to still meet today.
Collecting stamps was a lifelong passion which she started at the age of seven. Wilma shared this love with her sister Louise and many friends and pen pals.
Wilma was an active member of the Royal Purple since 1952, and the Trinity United Church, charter member of UCW and EV unit since 1955.
