Pelletier, Dominic

dominic pelletier

Dominic began his life 89 years ago in St. Rose DuLac, Man. to a very proud Alma and Wilfred Pelletier. Shortly after the family moved to Domiemy, Sask., then in 1947 they moved to Pincher Creek.
With fairly strict upbringing on the farm the routine mainly consisted of school, work on the farm and the occasional trick pulled on his seven brothers and four sisters.
Having overcome the Great Depression Dominic knew how to overcome obstacles and see limitless possibilities. He believed in earning his keep which he did some of his favourite jobs consisting of an electrician and mechanic.
Dom met his beautiful wife Josephine Plain Eagle in 1958 and they married in 1960. In 1961 they started their family with Sylvia, then Rose in 1961, Sheila in 1964 and baby Murray in 1965.
Dominic moved his family to Fort Macleod in 1965 and resided here until his passing, where he did various jobs throughout the years: mechanic, driving school bus, service man for Greyhound Bus Depot, Legion steward and driving the handibus.
It seemed a short while later in 1980 beloved mother Josephine passed away from cancer. Heartbroken, Dom never gave up and as time went on, his children grew and he became a grandfather of 12, then as more time went on he became a great grandfather of 15.
Dominic loved to camp with his family, play cards, listen to music, play and pick on his grandchildren. During his retirement you could find him sitting in his garage doorway, having a cold beer, willing to visit with anyone who stopped by. He could also be found puttering around his garage, garden or his daily scooter rides to get the mail and some groceries.
The family would like to thank everyone for all of your support and help through this difficult time.
Dominic will forever be in our hearts, he inspired laughter and love. He shall be forever cherished and never forgotten.
Love forever and always, your Crazy Family
