Fort Macleod Royals split an American Legion baseball doubleheader last week against Tri-County Cardinals.
The Cardinals conquered the Royals 11-4 in the first game of the June 30 twin bill at Westwinds Stadium.
The Royals rallied to win the second game 13-3 to gain the split.
Next regular season action for the Royals is Friday, July 10 when they are in Great Falls to take on the Chargers.
On Saturday, July 11 the Royals are at Havre to battle the Northstars.
On Tuesday, July 14 Fort Macleod is in Lethbridge for a doubleheader against the Miners that starts at 6 p.m.





Cardinals 11 Royals 4
The Royals exploded for five runs in the seventh inning to break open a close game and beat the Royals 11-4.
The Royals were leading 2-1 when Tri-County scored two runs in the fifth inning and added three more in the top of the sixth to lead 6-2.
The Royals scored twice in the bottom of the sixth to make it close before the Cardinals put the game away in the seventh.
Easton Wright was on the mound for 4 1/3 innings for Fort Macleod, striking out eight batters while giving up three runs on five hits and four walks.
Nash Jones pitched 2 2/3 innings, allowing seven runs on five hits and one walk with one strikeout.
Bryden Markowski got the final two outs, allowing one run on one hit with one strikeout.
Fort Macleod managed four hits, with Cashe Kropinak getting two and Nathan Coast and Easton Wright each hitting a single.
Royals 13 Cardinals 3
Led by Cashe Kropinak’s third inning home run, the Royals caged the Cardinals 13-3 in the second game of the day.
The Royals were trailing 3-2 in the third when they exploded for four runs.
Fort Macleod added another run in the fourth, four more in the fifth and two in the sixth to end the game on the 10-run mercy rule.
Nathan Coast went the distance on the hill, striking out five batters while allowing three runs on six hits and four walks.
Kropinak had two singles in addition to the dinger as he went 3-for-4 with two RBI and scored three runs.
Cal Schmid went 2-for-4 and scored four runs and Keegan Scott went 1-for-4 with two RBI and scored a run.
Zak Wright had a double, driving in one run and scoring one, Easton Wright went 1-for-4 with two RBI and Coast went 1-for-2 and scored a run.
