South Country Fair has another diverse lineup

The 38th version of a top southern Alberta music festival takes place this weekend at Fort Macleod Fish and Game Park.

True to its roots, South Country Fair has lined up a diverse collection of artists to perform Friday, Saturday and Sunday, July 17-19.

Friday, July 17

The music starts early on Friday with a performance at 2 p.m. by Lancelot Knight at Stronghold Brewing Co. on Main Street.

Knight is followed at 3 p.m. by Eva Kabande.

Master of ceremonies Allison Brock gets the evening started at 6 p.m. on the east stage,

The opening ceremony is at 6:30 p.m. featuring Sandra and Lowell Yellowhorn on the south stage.

That is followed at 7 p.m. by a performance on the east stage by Those Folk.

At 8:15 p.m. The Denim Daddies take the south stage, followed at 9:10 p.m. by Eva Kabande on the east stage.

Mark Sadlier Brown takes over as master of ceremonies to introduce a performance by Secondhand Dreamcar on the south stage.

The Wandering V’s are up at 11:40 p.m. on the east stage.

Closing out the Friday night show is the Rubber Tire Peep Show at 12:50 p.m. on the south stage.

From 12 midnight to 2 a.m. the Lethbridge Independent Film Society will screen movies in the camping area.

Saturday, July 18

Mark Sadlier Brown returns as master of ceremonies at 12:30 p.m. Saturday on the east stage.

Mike Stack plays from 1-2 p.m. on the south stage, followed at 2:10 p.m. by Those Folk.

There is music again on Main Street on Saturday, with performances at Stronghold Brewing by Emily Triggs at 2 p.m. and John Wort Hannam at 3 p.m.

Leaf Rapids performs at 3:20 p.m. on the south stage, with Sandra and Lowell Yellowhorn also performing int he afternoon.

First up is Lancelot Knight at 7 p.m. on the east stage, with John Wort Hannam scheduled to perform at 8:10 p.m. on the south stage.

Catherine MacLellan then takes the east stage a 9:20 p.m.

Mike Stack is master of ceremonies for the remainder of the night, introducing The Harpoonist at 10:30 p.m. on the south stage. Emily Triggs at 11:40 p.m. on the east stage, and closing out the night at 12:50 p.m. with Stubbs and The on the south stage.

From 12 midnight to 2 a.m. the Lethbridge Independent Film Society will screen movies in the camping area.

Sunday, July 19

South Country Fair closes out 2026 with an afternoon of music on Sunday, July 19.

With John Wort Hannam as master of ceremonies, the line-up features Bobby Dove at 1 p.m., Mudlarker at 2:10 p.m., The Sadlier Brown Band at 3:20 p.m., and the finale song and round dance at 4:30 p.m.

All Sunday events are on the south stage.

More than music

Throughout the weekend there will be activities in the Awareness Tipi.

Cheryl Massimo will lead a self-care workshop beginning at 5 p.m. Friday,

On Saturday, July 18 events start at 8:30 a.m. with Twin Hearts Meditation, followed at 10 a.m. by yoga.

At 12:30 p.m. there is the Ray of Sun Drumming Circle, while at 2 p.m. a Chakra Dance is planned.

From 9-10:30 p.m. there is a Glow Flow Jam for people of all ages in front on the main stage.

On Sunday, July 19 there is Twin Hearts Meditation at 8:30 a.m. followed by yoga at 10 a.m.

Rebecca Many Grey Horses will lead a session titled “The Blackfoot and the Cosmos” at 11:30 a.m., with a Chakra Dance at 1 p.m.

South Country Fair is running 50-50 draw as well as a quilt raffle as fund-raisers throughout the weekend. Information is at southcountryfair.com.
